North End Parks

The North End has a number of open green spaces for you to enjoy the outdoors. The North End Parks are the two northernmost parks on the Rose Kennedy Greenway and opposite of Hanover St. The parks cover 3-acres and were built on Big Dig parcels reserved by Boston’s zoning code to be “programmed, designed, and detailed for the primary benefit of the adjacent North End community…”

You can also go to the Langone Park, which is a waterfront park featuring a Little League baseball field, bocce courts, and a playground.

Freedom Trail

Another way to enjoy your time in the North End is to visit the stops along the Freedom Trail that are in the neighborhood. Events in the North End played a significant role in the American Revolution so there are spots you might not want to miss.

  • Paul Revere House – built c. 1680, was the colonial home of Paul Revere, a patriot during the American Revolution
  • Old North Church – notable for its part in Paul Revere’s midnight ride in 1775 to warn of coming British invasion
